LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAMS

Note: Please check the latest session brochure for changes to qualifications, schedules and fees.

Kidskate
Kidskate is an introductory program taught by professional coaches.  Geared to meet the needs of the preschool child ages 3 to 5, this flexible program is designed to include enjoyment while learning the fundamentals of skating.  Kidskate, precedes the beginner skating program Canskate, lays the foundation for a pleasurable lifetime skill.
Note: CSA approved helmets and skate guards are mandatory.  Extra skates and helmets are available at no charge.

Canskate
Our Canskate program, based on Skate Canada's Canskate Guidelines, is coordinated under the watchful eye of professional coach Michele Britten.  Michele has planned a program, with one of the lowest skater to coach ratios, to deliver a safe and stimulating environment for beginner skaters ages 5 and up.  Badges are awarded as skaters move through and master fundamentals to prepare for success in more advanced Skate Canada programs.
Note: Skaters must attend the program on the same day of the week.

Adult Learn to Skate
Our Adult program offers the opportunity for adults to learn to skate or improve their basic skating skills or maintain more advanced ones.

POWERSKATING

Training for faster and More Powerful Skating
Too often ignored as a skill, skating is perhaps one of the most important there is in hockey and ringette.  Power skating is strong skating with balance, agility and mobility and is beneficial to both girls and boys wanting to develop the basic skills necessary to play these sports more effectively.

Out professional coaches offer both individual and team membership in the Powerskating program.  For team membership, the closed sessions focus on the specific needs of  a team and include team building and skills training to improve players' efficiency.

Skaters must wear hockey equipment and be prepared to work on their endurance skills.
