Registration Information

Registration typically happens in early September however can happen during the season through the Markham Skating Club office.

Some useful information about registration and membership at Markham Skating Club

Forms of Payment Accepted:

Cash: Paid in full at the time of registration
Cheque: 4 installments dated Sept. 3, 2008, Oct. 15, 2008, Nov. 15, 2008 & Dec.15, 2008
Visa or MasterCard: 2 installments due on September 3 and December 15, 2008. Registration cannot be confirmed until payment is made. All skaters wishing to participate in private coaching, Skate Canada testing or competitions of any kind must be “Member in Good Standing”( i.e. all fees paid in full) and have enrolled in an appropriate MSC program with at least the minimum required days of skating.

Discounts:

Family Discount: For families with two or more skaters at MSC, the second highest membership receives a 5% discount while the third & subsequent skaters receive a 10% discount.

Refunds:

A fee of $35 will be charged for any cancellations of membership prior to the start of skating. There will be no refunds except for medical reasons as approved by the MSC Board of Executives. NO EXCEPTIONS.

NSF Cheques / Returned payments

A fee of $35 will be levied for any returned payments, which must be replaced with a certified cheque or other guaranteed form of payment. Replacement payment must be received within 14 days to continue the skaters’ membership with MSC.

Program Assistants:

MSC offers a wonderful opportunity for our skaters to assist the MSC coaches as program assistant for our KidSkate and CanSkate programs. Skaters are eligible if they have obtained a minimum of their Preliminary Skills and are 11 years of age or over. High School students can put these volunteer hours towards Community Involvement requirements. To schedule your volunteer hours contact Line Benton 905-209-0839.

Annual Awards Banquet:

The awards banquet held at the end of the Winter Season each year is a wonderful way to celebrate our skaters accomplishments and enjoy a social evening with friends and family. This years banquet is scheduled for March 7, 2009.

Please provide MSC with an email address so that we can keep you up-todate on current events and important announcements. If you do not have access to emails please be sure to check our website or the bulletin board in the lobby of Markham Village Arena.
