CanSkate Challenge on Saturday, December 22.

Registration is now open for MSC’s annual CanSkate Challenge on Saturday, December 22 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. This event is specially designed for our younger skaters, and introduces them to the fun of performing and competing in this sport, while also letting them show off their skills in a low pressure, friendly environment.

Skaters will compete at the level of their last badge passed, with elements they have already mastered. This will help them feel less pressure and be able to enjoy themselves fully!

On the day of the event, skaters will warm-up on the ice and practice in their groups before taking turns being assessed by our highly experienced MSC Coaches. All skaters will receive a certificate indicating how they did – they can receive Gold, Silver, Bronze or Merit. In this way, skaters are not competing against each other, but are competing against themselves to do the best they can based on Skate Canada’s national assessment criteria. For more information, please click for the announcement package: CanSkate Challenge Announcement - 2018-2019.Final.English.Nov 29 2018(2).pdf

Please register on our registration page by clicking here by Friday, December 14; the entry fee is $25. Due to limited ice time on competition day, only the first 75 entrants will be able to skate; sign up early to be sure you get a space!

Skaters’ competition times will be posted on the club bulletin board one week before the event.
