2024 Ice Show Participation Agreement

You will be required to accept this agreement when you register your skaters

I confirm my skater's availability to participate in the rehearsals and performances for MSC's Ice Show 2024 and commit to making all reasonable efforts to attend the following:
  • Rehearsals for my courts (as announced in early 2024)
  • Production Week: April 8 – 11, 2024 (expect to be at the arena daily; one rehearsal per day)
  • Performance Dates: April 12 – 7pm, April 13 – 1pm and 7pm, April 14 – 1pm

Every skater who registers for the 2024 Ice Show must ensure that their measurements are received by the MSC office so the Club may provide them with a costume for the show. MSC volunteers will be in the lobby during office hours in October (dates TBD) to take participants' measurements.

Every skater in the 2024 Ice Show will have a costume that the Club will provide.  The costume is the property of the Club, and will become part of our costume rental business, which helps keep fees low and fund our Ice Shows.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Forms of Payment: Ice Show registrations will not be processed unless accompanied by appropriate fees. Payment is due upon registration and must be paid online by Visa or Mastercard.

Cancellations/Refunds: There are no refunds for 2024 Ice Show fees.  Exceptions may only be made for medical reasons if supported by a doctor’s note and approved by the MSC Board of Directors.

Behaviour and Attitude: Any skater interfering with or endangering the safety of Club members or staff will be asked to leave the arena immediately. Recurring disciplinary actions may be grounds for cancellation of participation in 2024 Ice Show, without refund.

Safety: CSA-approved helmets are mandatory for Pre-CanSkaters, CanSkaters and adults (until skater has passed CanSkate 5). In addition, all skaters must have plastic guards (not soft guards) on their blades when not on the ice.

Photography/Recordings: I consent for the MSC to use any photographs, audio and/or video recordings of myself or my children, as taken or produced by media personnel and/or MSC members or volunteers for the purpose of skill improvement or the publicizing and promoting of the MSC in perpetuity. I further waive any claim I may have against the MSC arising from the use of such photographs, audio and/or video recordings of myself or my children, as aforesaid.

I HAVE READ AND AGREE WITH all the policies stated above regarding behaviour, attitude, policies and procedures.  I will follow the rules and regulations of the Markham Skating Club (MSC) as well as directions given on and around the ice by any of the professional staff and/or volunteers appointed by the MSC Board of Directors.  MSC will not be held responsible for personal injury or loss of personal property. I authorize MSC to obtain qualified emergency medical assistance in the case of any injury incurred.  This consent and waiver shall remain in effect for the duration of my participation in 2024 Ice Show (though April 14, 2024) unless otherwise revoked.

I HAVE READ AND AGREE WITH the Markham Skating Club’s full official Code of Conduct document. (This document is available at the MSC office and on www.markhamskatingclub.com).
